Collaborate with the SIG
For the labeling of our bottles we work together with the Handicraft Day Center of the SIG. The SIG is a relatively small-scale, professional organization for supporting people with an intellectual disability and / or disorder from the autistic spectrum in Central and South Kennemerland.
Brewers grains as animal feed or raw material for bread.
While enjoying one of our beers, the cows in assendelft from the dairy farm GeKo enjoy our Brewers grains. Brewers grains is a product that remains during the brewing of our beer. Brewers grains is a protein-rich feed and in this case is given to its cows by cattle farmer GeKo. In addition, part of our Brewers grains goes to the local bakery for making bread.
Smart use of water consumption.
After boiling, the wort (Wort is the sugar-rich, aqueous solution that forms an intermediate in the preparation of beer based on grains) is cooled from around 80 degrees to 20 degrees. For this cold water is used which runs along a plate cooler. As a result, the wort is cooled back, but the used water with an average temperature of 65 degrees is collected by us and used again to clean both the brewing installation and the brewing room. This prevents unnecessary water consumption.
